A little update...

So it's been quite a while since I posted anything so you're going to get a mind-full of the past few months! BEWARE!

Our California trip was the highlight of our summer! We took our first vacation as a family....(well as half a family, we left little Tye home with G&G Hughes...we'll take him when he's older!) We had fun staying with Austin's sister Lynette! She was so nice to let us stay with her while we were there! We took Carter to Disneyland....He had a lot of fun there! He loved all of the rides and he got to meet some of the characters! We loved going to the beach. It was Carter's first time seeing the ocean. He LOVED it! He loved playing in the sand with Lynette and running away from the big waves! We brought home quite a few seashells that we found! Austin and I went to Six Flags while we were there. He went on most of the rides solo.....I was all gun-hoe the day before and very excited...then the "wimp" in me showed up and I chickened out on a lot of the rides. I'm sure that some of you that know me well aren't suprised!! (Austin was too nice to make me go...) We did have a fun time despite my nerves! We had such a fun time in California and we hope to go back soon!

Carter started pre-school in September. He loves every minute of it! He goes three days a week for 2 1/2 hours! It's nice for both him and me! He has learned so much already! He is always bringing home a cute project that he has made, and he's always singing a new song that he has learned. In October he got to go on a fieldtrip to a pumpkin patch. He got to ride on a hayride and pick out a pumpkin. His teacher said that he could have any pumpkin that he wanted....Carter chose the biggest one that he could find! (I'm sure the teacher wanted to change her mind at that point.) I was pretty shocked when Carter came home and told me that the neighbor bringing him home needed help to unload his pumpkin! He was of course very proud of his choice!

We were able to go to Fishlake over a weekend in September. We had so much fun! Carter and Tye loved to be in the great outdoors! It was both Tye and our dog Cosmo's first time to Fishlake! Tye had a blast throwing rocks into the lake, and Cosmo loved to BE in the lake! (I guess that he didn't mind that the water was FREEZING!!) Austin, Carter and I were able to go fishing with some of the cousins....Carter caught his first fish with his Dad! It was very exciting! We all had so much fun...we were all quite sad when it was time to go home. Hopefully next year we will be able to stay longer than a weekend!

We had a fantastic Halloween too! Carter dressed up as Buzz Lightyear, and Tye was Spiderman! We were able to go up to Wellsville and go trick-or-treating with Austin's sister Leta and her fun family! Both Carter and Tye had a great time getting candy! Carter was old enough to really enjoy it this year, he made it around to all of the houses in the neighborhood! I was shocked! I was so surprised too that Tye picked up on trick-or-treating so fast! (He knew how to get the goods!) I was a little disappointed in myself for not dressing up....(I think that it was the first year in my life that I hadn't!!) There was a house that was giving out fresh cotton candy though so that made up for my disappointment. I LOVE cotton candy!! Weird I know!

Our favorite thing to do lately is to take the boys over to Krispy Kreme's to get free doughnuts! We have a lot of fun doing that! Carter and Tye love to watch the doughnuts being made....of course all of us really love the free doughnut part the best!

What else.....well, we've been really busy fixing up our house so that we can put it on the market to sell! Yes, we're selling our house...bad timing? Who knows! We're just hoping that it will sell sometime, we're not in too much of a hurry we just hope that one of the lots that we like will still be available when it sells! We have done quite a bit to our house already, we just need to finish up little projects here and there. So probably in the next month (or two ) it'll be ready to be put up for sale. Our plan is to build a house in Farmington. We are really excited to hopefully start on that in the next year. I'll update on that as it goes along!

We had a very nice Thanksgiving yesterday too! We were able to spend Thanksgiving with Austin's parents and Grandma Nicholas! Dinner was so good! As ALWAYS I ate too much, but I managed to save some room for some of Kate's pie...YUMMY!! That's almost my favorite part! It was a bit quiet this year though....Usually we have a few more people...Hopefully next year EVERYONE in the Hughes fam will be able to come! WE missed them ALL!!! Later Thanksgiving night we went to visit the Jensen fam. We watched a couple of movies and Carter had to get into the hot tub....HOT POOL if you ask him. It's starting to become an obsession with Carter, he gets in almost every time we visit! I think that's his favorite part about visiting G&G Jensen....besides seeing them of course! (oh, and the unlimited supply of anything he wants and can get his sticky little hands on! Ha ha ha!) We love to visit all of our family and always have such a fun seeing everyone! We missed G&G Valentine and the kids this year....They had to run off to Vegas for a soccer tournament! (sure, that's why they went....we all know why ya go to VEGAS!!! ha ha ha!) I'm sure that they had fun but, we missed them all the same!

I think that about put us up to date....Hopefully it won't be several months before I post again.....if it does take me a while and you dear readers are wondering what's going on with us, email me and let me know that I need to update the pics and news!
